How Far Should My Butler Sink Protrude From the Benchtop?

The recommended distance that a butler sink should protrude from the bench top can vary based on the specific sink and installation method being used. However, a typically it is installed with a 40mm overhang.

This allows for easy access to the sink and provides enough clearance for you to comfortably wash dishes or prepare food without feeling cramped. Additionally, having a small amount of overhang can also help prevent water from spilling onto the countertop or floor.

When installing a sink, be sure to check out this blog post on our learning centre. We have a step by step video to show you how to install the butler sink. Please note that we highly recommend that the actual sink to be installed is available for the cabinet maker before manufacturing the cabinetry.
